The significance of masks – and about mask-making:
Sometimes we need to step out of our mundane hassles and into the nonphysical realm to reconnect so we understand, or better, remember, who we are, where we come from and where we’re heading.
A mask can serve as a gatekeeper of that knowledge, a persona, either of a guide to support us or an energy that we would like to integrate into our own behavioral patterns.
About the workshop:
In this 3-part workshop we will look inside to discover what wants to come forth from the unseen to be seen. We will sketch it down and then we will create a mask, based on these discoveries. It’s FUN!
Please bring an old T-shirt that can get dirty whilst creating.
One workshop consists of three sessions a two hours:
1. Session: character sketching and molding the mask on the face, let it dry
2. Session: adding sculpted details, let it dry
3. Session: painting and merry home-taking

About the lecturer:
Brigitte Dörnerová is a self taught artist, puppet and props maker, aspiring art director and director. She considers theater and film her artistic home, but is always up for new adventures into previously unknown realms. She has a very quirky style that manifests through her creature creations like dragons, vampires, wood spirits and the youngest members of her family, the Boobiepuppets.
